Thank you for using the JsdCog app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

The JsdCog app does not require an account and does not collect personal details such as your name, email address, or phone number. The only information the app uses is your device location (to calculate sunset times) and, if you allow them, basic device information needed to deliver push notifications, as described below.

2. Location Data

JsdCog uses your location to calculate accurate sunset times, since the Hebrew calendar day begins at sunset. This allows the app to show the correct start and end of the Sabbath and feast days for where you are.

Your location is only accessed with your permission and is used on your device solely for this calculation. We do not store your location on our servers, track your movements, or share or sell your location with anyone.

You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device settings. If you do, the app may show less accurate sunset times.

3. Push Notifications

With your permission, JsdCog sends push notifications, for example reminders about the Sabbath, feast days, and church announcements.

Push notifications are delivered through OneSignal, a third-party notification service (which in turn uses Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android). To deliver notifications, OneSignal receives a push notification token and basic device information such as device model, operating system version, language, time zone, IP address, and app usage information (for example, when the app was last opened). This information is used only to deliver notifications and is not used for advertising or sold. You can turn off notifications at any time in the app or in your device settings.

4. Embedded Website and External Links

The app includes a page that embeds the Jsd-Cog website (https://jsd-cog.org) and may contain links to external websites. Please note that these websites operate under their own privacy policies, and we recommend reviewing their policies if you choose to visit them.

5. Feedback

If you provide feedback through the app, it is not collected or stored unless explicitly stated in future updates.

6. Third-Party Services

The JsdCog app uses OneSignal (with Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging) only to deliver push notifications, as described in section 3. The app does not use third-party services for analytics or advertising.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. If we begin collecting any additional data, we will update this Privacy Policy before those changes take effect. Any updates will be posted within the app and on the Jsd-Cog website.
